The beautiful natural treasures that Spain keeps will never cease to amaze us. In the town of L'Hospitalet de l'Infant, in Tarragona, we find one of those places that will leave us speechless due to its uniqueness. This is the Cova del Llop Marí, a cavity that goes into the depths of a cliff bathed by the Mediterranean. And inside we find nothing more and nothing less than a totally hidden beach
The Cova del Llop Marí is located near the Torn beach and was carved out of the rock face by the erosion of the sea over the centuries. As we enter it, we will marvel at its exceptionality, and it is that at the bottom of the cavity we will find a small beach with dimensions that vary depending on the state of the sea. In addition, we will also come across a side gallery that zigzags in the bowels of the mountain reaching up to 18 meters in length. This has a width of 4 meters and a height of 2 meters that decreases as progress is made.
A magical place with a legend behind it

And to add more magic to the place, it is worth knowing the legend behind it. As explained by L'Hospitalet de l'Infant Tourism, the llop marí (sea lion) "is a fantastic animal, created by the god Neptune, which attacked pirates who approached the coast of l'Hospitalet de l' Infant and that he took refuge in this cave”.
